Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Solutions

"I cannot see the videos."

Problem: The multimedia is configured as shockwave files, which can spawn quicktime videos when needed. To reason that you cannot see the videos is that the extra files needed to support the spawning are not positioned correctly or are missing.

Solution: First we need to find the directory of the shockwave folder. Do this, go to
Start->Run and enter %windir%\system32\Macromed\ This will display the Macromedia plugin folders. You will see one or more folders labelled "Shockwave" (e.g. Shockwave 8, Shockwave 10, etc). Open the latest version. In that folder, you will see a number of files and a folder named "Xtras" (we are almost there...). The fix is to download the file QT6Asset.x32 into the Xtras folder. That should do the trick.
