In UPenn's Introduction to Mechanical Design, or MEAM101, I honed my solidworks skills and learned rapid prototyping techniques. I am especially proud of my work in dissecting and modeling a deep sea fishing reel. Karina Gunadi, Peter Blumenstein, Nova Fallen and myself modeled over 70 unique components, including reactionary components like bending springs, capturing the full mechanical action of the reel. Miraculously, after dissecting the reel it still works. For the final project, Jake Welde, Spencer Fox and myself made a mechanical grandfather clock. It could be wound during timekeeping using a laser cut ratchet I designed.
