Creating a Dimer Boat

1. Cut a rectangular piece of aluminum foil 11”x5”.
2. Form the aluminum piece lengthwise along the outside diameter of the boat form. Face the shinier side of the metal towards the boat form.
3. Fold in the ends of the foil so it will not spill the dimer charge used in your application. Remove the dimer boat from the form. Make sure that the overall length of the boat does not exceed 7.5”; otherwise, the dimmer is too close to the high-temperature furnace, which will lead to system contamination and will ruin your samples!
