The mission of the Air Art Institute is to teach the Art of Flight. We fulfill our mission by providing classes, workshops, and demonstrations with our mobile classrooms. The centerpiece of the Air Art Institute is Test Flight Hill. Located on a gentle, windswept hill, a wide collection of lightweight aerodynamic objects will be available for students and visitors to try. Arrows, kites, gliders, boomerangs and many other flying shapes will teach the lessons in the Art of Lift, the Art of Control, and the Art of Propulsion. Our goal is to allow the visitor to re-create the Wright brothers experience of first-hand discovery of the basic principles of aeronautical engineering.
Colorful, tactile, fun and lightweight, using paper, Dacron, Balsa wood, and occasionally aluminum, artifacts found at the Air Art Institute will capture the beauty of flight and educate young people about the mysteries of aerodynamics.
