Cool things that Computers can do
The ENIAC was one of the very first computers. It was made right here at
Penn, and its creation signalled the dawn of the Information Age. Soon,
we'll discover just how the ENIAC was produced. But first, let's run down
a short list of some cool things that we can do with computers:
- Utility: cars run better, checkout counters are faster, and we can get
cash any time we want from an ATM.
- Fun: we have some great games, and computers have helped to improve
many leisure activities (i.e., the remote control).
- Connections: newsgroups, IRC, MUDs and on-line relationships have made
the world a smaller place. People have solved problems, made money, and
even found love thanks to their electronic connections.
