Post-Doc on memory management of embedded Java applications at INRIA

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position at IRISA/INRIA
(http://www.irisa.fr) in Rennes (http://www.ville-rennes.fr) starting
from January 2000, for a period of up to two years and for a salary of
approximately 180000 FF/year.

The position is funded by a joint research effort of INRIA
(http://www.inria.fr), Verimag (http://www-verimag.imag.fr), Aonix
(http://www.aonix.com), Silicomp (http://www.silicomp.fr) and Thomson.

The aim of the project is to design and implement analysis, verification
and optimization techniques for the control of resources (memory, tasks)
of embedded, real-time applications written in Java.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science and/or Applied
Mathematics, together with experience/background in one or several 
of the following areas:

  * program analysis and compiler optimizations
  * garbage collection and memory management
  * object-oriented programming in Java
  * concurrency and typing
