How do I enable WebDAV for Windows?

• Windows XP
• Windows Vista

For Windows XP

1. Go to your "Start" menu, and click on "My Network Places":

2. Click "Add a network place" from the left-hand navigator bar under "Network Tasks":

3. Click on the "Next" button to continue the process:

4. The "Next" button directs you to the following screen. Click the "Choose another network location", and then press the "Next" button:

5. Enter the given URL, i.e. https://webdav.seas.upenn.edu/~$USERNAME/webdav/ (where $USERNAME is your username):

6. You will be prompted to login using your username and password. This is your SEAS username and password:

7. Click "Finish" to complete the creation of the network place:

8. You will be prompted to login again with your username and password:

 

9. When you Press the "OK" button, all the files inside the folder will be listed:

10. Now you have completed your WebDAV installation.

 

11. Now you can drag and drop files to and from your WebDAV enabled folder as though it is a local file folder.

For Windows Vista

Windows Vista shipped with a number of WebDAV bugs. To correct these issues, you will need download a patch from Microsoft. Once you have downloaded and installed the patch, follow these steps to set up a WebDAV:

1. Click the "Start" button and select "Computer".
2. In the toolbar at the top of the window, select "Map Network Drive"
3. Click the link "Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures"
4. The "Add Network Location" Wizard will start.
5. Select "Choose a custom network location".
6. Type in the URL of the webdav site.
