Research Expertise: Bioelectronics | Neuroelectronics | Nanomaterials

Vitale's group works on innovative technologies to study, monitor and treat neurological and neuromuscular disorders such as epilepsy, Parkinson's, nerve injury, and chronic pain. Her research integrates nanomaterial processing and characterization with high-throughput fabrication techniques to develop soft, multimodal bioelectronic interfaces that can monitor and modulate the nervous system at high spatio-temporal resolution and at multiple scales. The Vitale lab is a multidisciplinary group bringing together engineers, physicists, materials scientists, neuroscientists, and clinicians with the ultimate goal of translating research findings to improve clinical care of neurological and neuromuscular disorders.
