Majors and Program Options

Majors and Program Options

Penn Engineering offers the Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) degree as our flagship degree program, preparing students for careers in professional engineering and related fields. We also offer the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree, which provides students more breadth, and allows them to combine a technology-based degree with course work options in other disciplines. The BAS degree is designed primarily for students whose interests are not oriented toward receiving a professional engineering preparation. Please learn more about our majors listed on the left.

In addition to the degree programs, Penn Engineering’s interdisciplinary programs offer students a diverse academic experience and the intellectual grounding essential to collaboration and innovation. Explore the various forms of interdisciplinary options listed on the right.

Interdisciplinary Program Options

Dual Degrees

Penn Engineering’s dual degree programs allow students to combine their BSE or BAS degree with a second degree in one of Penn’s other undergraduate schools.

Dual Majors

Students can enrich their undergraduate experience by satisfying degree requirements in two BSE curricula as a dual major.

Second Majors

Students (both BSE and BAS) have the opportunity to pursue a second major in the College of Arts and Sciences. This results in a single degree from Penn Engineering with two majors, one in engineering and one in the College.

Students may choose to complete a departmental engineering minor, an interdisciplinary engineering minor, a University minor or a College of Arts and Sciences minor.
