SEAS students receive 4GB and faculty receive 10GB of disk space.
Here are ways to check your quota:
- Log into the Account Management Area for detailed information about your quota usage.
- Log into SEAS Webmail. Your quota usage is displayed as a percentage in the lower left corner beneath the folder listing. Hover your mouse cursor over it to get a more detailed report.
- On the Linux command line, type
- On Windows machines in the SEAS labs, right-click on your S: drive and select Properties.
Please do not waste disk space. Disk space is a shared resource, so please use it responsibly.
Your email INBOX does not count against your SEAS home directory quota (but your folders do). There is a separate 250 MB limit on your INBOX if you are on the SEAS mail server. For more information on deleting mail from your INBOX, see the article, I've deleted email, why am I still taking up too much space in the mail spool?
Need more space?
All students, faculty and staff have UNLIMITED storage with Google Drive via Google@SEAS (recommended).
All students, faculty and staff have 50GB of free storage with Penn+Box (discouraged, due to limited storage and usability issues).
