Current PhD Students

Raghu Arghal (Aug 2020-present): Raghu received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in 2019 and 2020 from the University of Michigan in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a concentration in signal and image processing and machine learning. His research interests include network science, optimal control, and game theory with a focus on information dynamics and decisions in networks.




Eric Lei (Aug 2020-present): Eric is a PhD student with interests in signal processing, communications, and machine learning. Previously, he received his BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University. In his free time, he likes to play golf and ski.





Hesam Nikpey (Aug 2021-present): Hesam is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer and Information science. He received a B.Sc degree in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2019. His research interests are in the analysis of algorithms and graph theory, with application in networks and group testing.





Xiaohan Zhang (August 2021-present): Xiaohan is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering. His research interests are in the broad areas of active learning and information theory. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and Honors Youth Program from Xi'an Jiaotong University and his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from UPenn.







Berkay Uslu (August 2022-present): Berkay's research interests range across constrained learning and optimization in wireless networks, signal processing and decision making in networked systems. He received his B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and B.A. in Mathematics from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkiye in 2022.UPenn.







Former PhD Students

Xingran Chen (Aug 2018-present): Xingran is currently an Assistant Professor at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He was a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering from August 2018 to June 2023. Prior to that, he received a B.Sc degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Central South University in 2015, and an M.A. degree in Applied Mathematics and Computational Science from the UPenn in 2018. His research interests are in the modeling, analysis and decision making of networked systems, with emphasis on the intersection of information theory and networks.
