A Visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Yesterday my old college roommate and I went to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
in Washington, DC. In this paper I will interpret this memorial, and talk
about the items and icons that are present at "The Wall." The
day was overcast and there was some light drizzle, putting a somber tone
on our visit. My own background includes involvement in the anti-war movement
in the early 70's (I as in High School at the time) and although I'd been
to Washington many times since the memorial was opened, this was my first
visit to it.
